Key Dates

  • 18 September From midday on this date, our existing system will become in accessible, meaning no new bookings can be made.
  • 21 September – Go-live – Our new booking system will go-live. Members will be emailed instructions on how to access their new account and further updates will also be provided on this page. Please be aware, our centres will be cash only for the morning of 21 September whilst we complete the installation. We will keep any disruption to a minimum and apologise for any inconvenience this causes.

How will bookings be affected?

Below outlines how bookings will be affected for all services. A full list of Frequently Asked Questions can also be found at the bottom of the page. Please read these carefully if you have any questions about the system implementation. Full details around links to the new system, how to access your account, instructions on how to make bookings and any additional information will be emailed to members closer to the system go-live.

Classes

  • Class bookings can be made in the current booking system as normal up to midday on the 18 September.

  • No new class bookings can be made from midday on 18 September to 9:00am on Monday 21 September.

  • From 9:00am on 21 September, class bookings will reopen in the new system for all classes from this point onwards.

  • Any bookings made in the old system for classes up to Friday 2 October will be transferred over into your new account by our team. Please do not re make these bookings in the new system.
  • Please be aware, we will be changing our waiting lists to ‘Alert Lists’. If a space becomes available, an email will be sent to everyone on the Alert List. The space can then be booked on a first-come, first-served basis and will no longer be reserved for one individual. Further alerts will be sent if additional spaces become available. This will replace the current text-message process, so you will no longer receive a message asking you to accept or decline a space. By notifying everyone on the list, the new approach gives all interested members a fair opportunity to book and prevents spaces from being held while awaiting a response.

To prepare for this change, waiting lists will be removed from our current booking system from Monday 14 September.

Courts, Pitches, and Facilities

  • Casual court, pitch, and facility bookings can be made in the current system up to midday on 18 September.

  • No bookings can be made from midday on 18 September until 9:00am on Monday 21 September.
  • At this point, bookings will reopen in the new system.
  • Any bookings made in the old system up to midday on 18 September will be transferred into the new system by our team.
  • Any block bookings made before midday on 18 September will also be transferred into the new system. No new block bookings can be made from this point until 9:00am on Monday 21 September.
Pool Sessions
  • Currently, only Fun & Float and Learner Pool Family Swims can be booked online in advance. These bookings will continue in the current system until midday on 18 September, for swim sessions up to and including 18 September.
  • For sessions on the 19 and 20 September, these will not be bookable and will be on a walk in only bass. Please pay at reception if you are not a member.
  • From 21 September, when our new booking system goes live, all swim sessions (including Lane Swims, All Welcome, Family Swims and more) will be bookable online by both members and pay-as-you-go users. Full booking instructions will be provided closer to the launch date. Walk-ins will still be welcomed subject to pool capacity – you will just need to get booked into the session at reception.
Swim School
  • Between the 13 and 21 September, we cannot sign any new members up to Swim School.
  • Progress may not be up to date for a short period of time whilst this is transferred into the new system, between 13 and 21 September.
  • The Swim School system will look very similar to the existing system. However, you will receive new login instructions on Monday 21 September.
  • From 21 September, free swimming for an accompanying adult during public swim sessions will be temporarily suspended. Pupils will continue to receive free swimming as part of their Swim School membership. We are reviewing this decision and will publish any further updates on our website.
Gym

  • Members will experience no disruption to gym access.
  • Gym appointments (such as inductions and programme reviews) can be booked in the current system up to 18 September at midday. From  21 September onwards, these bookings will be made via our new system.
Thermal Suite

  • The Thermal Suite can be booked in the current system until 18 September, for sessions taking place up to and including 20 September.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Below you will find a range of Frequently Asked Questions about the implementation of our new booking system.

What is the new leisure booking system?

It’s a new and improved system for our customers to manage their membership and make bookings with ease. This system will fully replace our existing booking system.

Why are we introducing a new system?

The new system will offer a better, more user-friendly experience with improved functionality, faster performance, and a modern interface for our customers. There will also be a mobile app which will allow you to manage your membership and access the centres via your digital membership card.

When will the new system be live?

The system is planned to go live on Monday 21 September. More information will be shared closer to the time.

Will I need to do anything before the switch?

Closer to launch, we’ll send members further information about how to access your account on the new system.

Why are waiting lists being changed to alert lists?

Alert Lists are being introduced to make booking available class spaces fairer and more efficient. Under the current waiting-list process, a space may be held while a customer decides whether to accept or decline it, meaning it remains unavailable to others.

With an Alert List, everyone registered will be notified when a space becomes available and will have the opportunity to book it on a first-come, first-served basis. This will help available spaces to be filled more quickly while giving all interested customers an equal opportunity to book.

Will my membership or bookings be affected?

Your membership will continue as normal. We’ll ensure the transition is as smooth as possible and provide clear guidance on how to access your information in the new system.

There will be some disruption to bookings over the ‘go-live’ period, information on this can be found further up this web page.

How will I access the new system?

You’ll be able to access it through our website and a new app. Links and instructions will be shared before launch.

Will there be any downtime during the transition?

Whilst we are doing everything we can to keep any disruption to a minimum, there will be some downtime over the ‘go-live’ period. We will share more information about this closer to the time.

Will the new booking system affect Swim School?

Yes, our new system will replace our existing Swim School system, however the system is very similar and there will only be little change between the existing Swim School system and the new one. Further information will be provided via email to Swim School members closer to our go-live date.

How will bookings be affected?

Information further up this page outlines how bookings will be affected for each service area. Please refer to this to see all details.

Will i be able to access my account from outside the UK?

No – to improve our system security, you will not be able to access the booking system from outside the UK.

I cant find the answer to my question

We will continue to update this web page and FAQ’s with further information closer to go-live, including key information around accessing your account.

If you have any urgent questions, please contact leisure@southnorfolkandbroadland.gov.uk.
